Would any of you guys consider trading up a few slots to pick Ebron?  I'm not nearly as well versed on the college guys as some of you, but everything I've read paints to him as being a "can't miss" and "sure thing" type of TE that we haven't had in a long time.  How far up would we need to trade and what might we have to give?

I don't think he's markedly better enough than some of the players that will definitely be available at our spot, but some here would... Assuming we have to jump at least Pittsburgh, probably at least Tampa's 4th depending on how high we'd jump.

Ebron is far from being a sure-thing, but he's a damn good football player that can kill defenses in a lot of different ways.  The kid seems to have some attitude/character concerns inside of the program.  He doesn't do anything wrong off of the field, but there's a lot of stuff about him only playing when he wants to play.

ODB as well.

Another scenario-

We pick ODB in the first and address WR.

ASJ
Roby
Niklas
Lawrence
Verrett

are available in the 2nd, who do you draft?

ASJ, go CB in the 3rd

Cry, try to trade back and take Shazier or a CB, take Martin

I'd love a trade back in this scenario.

If ODB, Cooks, Ebron, Martin, Dennard, and Clinton-Dix are all there at 18....move back a few slots and pick up another mid-rounder.

It's highly unlikely that we'll find an immediate starter at CB in the third - Jason Verrett and Bradley Roby are potential Day 1 starters.

Unless someone like Bashaud Breeland slips (which no one can predict), then it would be foolish to pass up first round talents like Verrett and Roby in the second.

I thought you were pretty high on SJB. Or is he projected to go in Rd 2 now?

I'm not sure if Cheese Baptiste is the best fit in scheme that primarily uses man-to-man.  I have no idea where he will go in the draft, but the mid-second to early third makes the most sense.

Avoid ASJ IMO, his own coach is telling teams to stay away.

Where did you see that?

That doesn't sound like something Steve Sarkisian would do.

I'd rather trade up in the second to secure Niklas (E was right on him, 2nd best TE in the class).

Unnamed sources.

/Mehta

But really, http://walterfootball.com/nfldraftrumormill.php has something but I can't remember where I originally read the Sark rumor. But I definitely read it somewhere reputable.

I really don't think Steve Sarkisian wouldn't do that.

Charlie Campbell is about as reputable as a pile of dog crap.
