Not much.  It will raise some red flags, but he's the top dog of that position group still.

Safeties are not primarily a first round talent (has happened obviously), that I believe this kid is.  I would love it if we could snag him with a second round pick.

So where do you see the top 3 pass rushers going right now? Obviously Clowney is a top 3 lock even if he blows out his ACLs sleeping through the night. But where do you see Barr and Kyle Van Noy right now?
Need a new one for a new board...

I think Barr is a natural LB and would probably play there if he were to be drafted into a 43.  He's a lot like Akeem Ayers to me, but a better pure athlete (maybe not football athlete though).

Dom Easley is an animal, if he wasn't injured I'd say he would be a top ten talent.

A few guys not on there I like are Vic Beasely (RICKY SAPP 2), Ifo Ekpre-Olomu from OU,  and Loucheiz Purifoy over at Florida.

Clowney and Barr are both top five picks.

I think Van Noy is probably a mid-first rounder unless he works out really well at the combine.

I love Vic Beasley and I have him right behind Rasco.  Very similar path to Barr's.  Had him in my top five over at YDKF, but...

DE/OLBs coached by Brent Venables scare me.  If Beasley dominates BC, he'll be added again.

Ekpre-Olomu is a little overrated to me.  Purifoy and his teammate Marcus Roberson are right there on the bubble for me.

Is that supposed to be an attempt at Lucius?

Only really hurts a lack of recent film IMO, he bummed less than $500 off a coach after his car was cleaned out. Breaking a rule is not always immoral, shouldn't reflect much on his character.

Glad to see Trey DePriest drop off the LB list, he has made minimal improvements from last year. Misses some tackles and questionable angles. I'd rather have 2 down thumper like AJ Johnson, at least he can make an impact.

And didn't realize Shaq Thompson was a LB now, guess I lost track of him after being a monster recruit that followed Lupoi.

I think the same case could be made for Hubbard as Cane makes for Barr. albeit for different reasons. Hubbard has developed more as a TFL gap player with the range to cover his side. You can put him in situations to rush the passer, but not 1-on-1 with the OT.

Barr and Beasley are birds of a feather, former H-Backs/F-Backs/TEs turned defensive manimals. Wish that would happen more, too many players are wasted as "jumbo athletes" clinging to offense.

there's first round safety talent almost every year.

Earl Thomas, Eric Berry, Kenny Vacarro, Matt Elam, Mark Barron

then you have guys like Cyprien, Delmas and Chung who are taken with the first or second pick in the 2nd round

Unless Clinton-Dix comes back and lights it up, we may not see a safety go before the 20s.

2013's class was so good.  I really wish we grabbed one of those guys.

WalterFootball has the Jets taking Kyle Van Noy in the middle of the first, the idea of which simultaneously annoys and excites me.
