The Jets Offense...ive
« on: April 17, 2014, 07:45:03 PM »
Simply put.

Will it be good?

Vick, Decker, Johnson

Almost certainly several draft picks spent on offensive players early

Will this finally be the year that we can proudly say our offense does not suck dick ?

Is it too early to be bold, and say with confidence that the Jets will have a top 20 offense this year?

Look at the OL.

The OL is certainly a wildcard.

I mean on one hand Winters shouldnt be worse, and could even improve (substantially). Colon could be fully healed, or injured. And then a brand new RT.

I dont think its  by any means a sure thing that it will be worse. Im hoping that the biggest difference in the OL will be made by Winters either improving or still sucking.  And that the right side doesnt change drastically

they got better at the end of the season. if they could sustain that level of play it'll be a big help

We will go from sucking dick to just giving a rare handjob if we have a few too many martinis.

There's something about this analogy that just makes me chuckle

brick and mangold should have better seasons too. they both had pretty bad years for players of their caliber.
My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

I'm somewhat concerned about them, but if the guys around them are improved then it should take some pressure off and they'll look better.

problem is they've both had pretty bad years for their caliber for multiple years in a row.

May be a safe bet that neither are elite anymore.

It will depend on our ability to get second level blocks in the running game and Geno's growth as a quick decision maker. If he can consistently read the defense pre-snap and get the ball out of his hands quickly, and if the running game is a legitimate threat, we have a shot at a dangerous offense, especially if we go WR round 1. But both Geno and the O-line need to show they can execute.

With the inevitable decline of Mangold and Brick, Winters will need to be a strength of the line, not a liability, as soon as next year.
