Give him minimal weapons against NFL talent and you're not going to get the same type of success and potentially damage him permanently in the process. That's not necessarily an indictment on your golden child, juts the reality of any non super elite prospect.

Then why do you keep bringing it up? Right now there's only one QB in the NFL who looks respectable with no worthwhile weapons.

The more i see the more i'm weary about this QB class.

That's not true.

Brady, Brees, Manning, and Rodgers are 4.  Not to mention Luck seems like he certainly can be one of those types of guys.  T.Y. Hilton, Donald Brown and Lavonn Brazil/'Rogers aren't exactly an elite squad. Even Rapist seems to do alright with elevating the play of guys around him.

And my more overarching point is that it'd be stupid to draft another QB with a 1st round pick when we have many other holes to address first.

The following players do not exist in JFIF's world:

Jimmy Graham
Darren Sproles
Marques Colston
Jordy Nelson
Randall Cobb
Donald Driver
Greg Jennings
Randy Moss
Rob Gronkowski
Aaron Hernandez
Wes Welker
Pierre Garcon
Marshall Faulk
Marvin Harrison
Troy Brown
Coby Fleener
TY Hilton

Jimmy Graham hasn't been in the league that long.........

He's been throwing to guys like Devery Henderson, Lance Moore and robert meachem for a good amount of time now. Colston was his best receiver and Colston was at no point a top 10 receiver in the league.

So i guess you can rule out last year when brady was throwing to a bunch of scrubs.

or 2010 when Peyton manning was throwing to Jacob Tamme and some white guy who's name I can't even remember right now.He had reggie wayne and a bunch of practice squad guys after Dallas Clark got hurt. Yeah he lost to us but we were a really good team that year.

Fantasy football is ruining you, my friend.

Colston was top ten in 2007, easily.

I'm not trying to compare the two best quarterbacks of this era to a bunch of prospects.  I just don't agree that they are all surrounded by terrible players.

They've both done more with less, but they've also had plenty of help too.

Colston has always been a hot and cold receiver who accumulates 70% of his stats in like 20% of games. Part of that is the system but there's games where he just doesn't make plays. You're cherry picking his best year.

We also don't know how good Colston is without Brees. Colston was a 7th rounder without a lot of speed and become a decently productive receiver. It's probably a safe bet that a half of fame QB had more to do with that than Colston making Brees look good.

Like I said, my overarching point is I don't see the sense in taking a QB now (when there's no surefire options)with a team with a lot of holes on that side of the poll. Somehow this turned into the story about Derek Carr and hall of fame qbs

I missed this initially, but i kept bringing it up because E gets riled up whenever someone says something he perceives as negative against Derek Carr. I was trying to avoid that because it generally goes nowhere and no one is actually going to change their opinion.

No, it wasn't negative.  It was wrong, so I corrected you.

If you want to say that he struggles with pressure (which you brought up), doesn't set his feet, and forces too many passes, that's fine.  All of these are negatives that I see in his game.

I'm not going to sit back and let you blow a bunch of hot air though.

"he won't be good if he doesn't have good players on his team" is garbage

I don't know how wanting to build a foundation in the offense first is a bunch of hot air.  It really had little to do with Carr himself but that's the direction you took it because of your man crush.

I'm not exactly sold on Carr especially with our weak skill position players.

And it has to do with him not being good enough to carry a team with minimal offensive talent.

The best way to build a foundation for the offense is to draft a guard.
