Update: Steve Smith signs with Baltimore

Some time within the next couple of hours according to ESPN and various others. His agent has already said "Smith is done" with the Panthers.

I would welcome him with open arms, especially with the intention of drafting Cooks at 18. Talk about the perfect mentor for Cooks to learn from for the next year or so.

Wide receivers don't generally need mentors as much as other positions.

How about because everyone compares Cooks to Steve Smith? Literally all he has to do is watch Smith and emulate him. Smith wouldn't have to teach him anything.

Why do you suppose that's the case? Doesn't seem like the easiest position to master, but most WRs do seem pretty selfish.
