His first year has to be almost non-existent, and his last year is probably going to be some asinine $20 million year that will never be seen
Need a new one for a new board...

In addition, I bet the signing bonus is significant.  $15 Million?  $1 Million salary?  Makes cap hit $4 Million.  Speculating.

it's the only thing that makes any kind of sense, unless Jimmy Graham has been/about to be dealt

That signing puts them over the cap.  They only had $2 million to start the day.

So, the team with the lowest cap space in the league manages to sign arguably the top player on the market...

And yes. Somebody is doing some funny business with the books in NO meaning their cap situation is going to be continuously fucked up for a while,or they got Byrd for a deal on the cheap like Verner got

$9mil a year. There's no way they're re-signing Graham.

Just how the freak is that deal fitting under the salary cap? Don't they have to be under the cap at all times? Meaning before Byrd signs on the line, he has to be able to fit under the cap? Which means a Graham deal has to be forthcoming, because they can't keep him on the tag, either a trade or long term deal has to be in the works to announce any time now

I would wait for the real details to come out before you make that statement.

It not filed yet.  They can release players first, and then file paperwork.

Anyone know wtf will happen with Graham if his case gets overturned by arbitration, and he gets awarded the WR franchise tag instead of TE ? Will the Saints be able to rescind their offer ?

Because theyll have a catastrophic cap problem then
