My question is why? His bonus isn't due until 3/25, might as well wait until we get his replacement. If there was never any intention of keeping him why wasn't he at least cut yesterday if not significantly sooner? No point in cutting him tomorrow, should have been cut significantly sooner.

The only thing I can think of is that today was the first day they could draw interest in trades, and they didn't, which surprises me.  Gabbert got traded for a 6th.

The sooner we're done with the Sanchez era the better. I know guys like MexicanJet, ndmick, and Badger will miss him, but this move will be best for the team.

Gabbert was also on a deal (new rookie scale I believe) for the #10 overall selection. Sanchez is making a fuckton more money for a guy that would be a backup than Gabberts deal right now
