Rodon is pitching tomorrow because Stroman wouldn't budge off opening Yankee Stadium.

Could Rodon be the answer to who is the game 2 guy? Sure. I'll believe it when I see it.

If Cole comes back healthy, Rodon pitches all year through October and at the level he's supposed to, and Stroman, Nestor, and Schmidt are the choices for games 3 and 4 of a short series, Cashman wins. Lots of pretty big ifs there.

I'll say this, this lineup is a lot better than years past in terms of having some balance. The talking heads were discussing how everything was coming from the bottom of the lineup. First, that's partially untrue because Soto had a good day at the plate, and second, good teams get performance from the bottom of the lineup. Not everything has to be a moonshot.

Cashman has put together a more balanced offensive roster. And Verdugo and Soto both had big plays today in the OF

Frankie Montas goes 6 shutty for the Reds on opening day, I don’t think he ever went 1 shutty here
