Matt Miller's latest 7 rounder....Matt Miller *checks notes* is still retarded.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2024/insider/story/_/id/39806887/2024-nfl-mock-draft-matt-miller-seven-rounds-257-picks-predictions#r1

10. TE - Brock Bowers (Georgia) (passed on Olu)
73. S - Kamren Kitchens (Miami) (Jaden Hicks was taken with the next pick)
111. WR - Jamari Thrash (Louisville)
134. OT - Garret Greenfeld (South Dakota St)
185. TE - Tanner McLachlan (Arizona) (why the freak are we doubling up on TE?)
256. QB - Joe Milton III (Tennessee)
257. Gord - Brady Latham (Arkansas)

If Joe Douglas goes TE, S with his first 2 selections...he should be walked out of the building before the 4th round begins.
Don't understand doubling up on TE, but the rest of the draft looks good to me. I go back and forth on Olu vs Bowers. Thrash at 111 is good. I don't really believe in Milton, but as a 7th-round developmental prospect, why not?

They need a safety, so I don't know why there would be an issue taking one in the 3rd round.

You're getting two starters (Bowers and Kinchens) and maybe one mid-round contributor (Thrash).  It's not a great draft for a win-now team.

Greenfield probably sits an an inactive backup.  McLachlan is TE5 behind Bowers/Conklin/Ruckert/Yeboah.  Joe Milton would be an inactive QB3, maybe.  Latham probably doesn't make the team.

That's a bad draft.  Not much thought put into the later picks.

Not that I’m on board with that being a good draft… but two immediate starters that can become solid NFL starters is significantly better drafting than we’ve had most of franchise history.

I’d hate everything about that draft class, but if we get two immediate starters at 10 and 72 that’s probably not the worst draft we could have.
Need a new one for a new board...

I'm not willing to listen to anyone who doesn't think it's a good idea to draft a player called Thrash.

I will not be taking questions.

How many immediate starters are you expecting to draft without a 2nd-round pick? And on this roster, which doesn't have many glaring needs on paper?

Half of this board wants Fashanu at 10. I'm not opposed to that at all. But if you do that, then you're basically spending the #10 pick on a guy you're hoping doesn't have to play in Year 1, or you're benching Morgan Moses after trading a pick for him. By your logic, that would be a terrible pick for a win-now team.

To me, you need 2 things out of this draft
- A #2 pass catcher behind Garrett Wilson (or a #3 pass catcher behind Wilson and Williams if Williams is good to go). If it's Bowers, then I also want another WR later in the draft.
- An offensive tackle that we can groom to start in 2025 and provide depth in 2024.

We should be able to get two starters and some solid contributors, especially now that kickoffs are basically coming back.

Not enough tight ends
We're actually converting Milton to tight end in that scenario.

If there's legitimacy to all this Bowers hype and he really is the special talent that some claim, I wonder what the chances are that he goes before 10.

Since Waller is busy contemplating his career at the craps tables in Vegas, i'm hoping the Giants reach for Bowers at 6.

They need to take one of Bowers/McCarthy/Penix/Turner

MJD gives us Brock (over Odunze and Fashanu)

https://www.nfl.com/news/maurice-jones-drew-2024-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-five-qbs-in-top-six-bills-nab-wr-after-stefon-diggs-trade

If it’s 5 QBs in the top 6 I will be furious if we don’t get Tennessee or Atlanta to trade back and get Nabers
