Assuming we stick and pick and don’t trade back, I have to assume our board is focused heavily on fortifying the OL. I’d suspect we prioritize the OTs first and our board looks something like this

Dawand Jones
Matthew Bergeron
JMS
Steve Avila
Joe Tippman
Luke Wypler
Ocyrus Torrence
Darnell Washington
Michael Mayer
Cody Mauch

After that I’d expect we’d prioritize Safety, but I don’t see Brian Branch as a fit for us. We did meet with Daiyan Henley, so he’d be a possibility if we decide to say “freak dem OL” and draft defense again.

Good news I named 8 OL that are options and we pick in ten picks. Somebody, and probably multiple somebodies are gonna be there.

Also if the Steelers DONT take Joey Porter Jr at 32, I’ll be very surprised

Put together a package and go get the best lineman on the board.

What would you like to trade? Our 1 and 2 next year are locked up. We don’t have a 3. Our 4 th this year will likely get us up 4-5 spots, which would also mean we don’t take another player until 143. We gave up our ability to trade up to secure a tackle with the Rodgers trade.

There are 8 solid value OL on the board right now. Somebody will make it to 43. It’s also possible several of them do, and we trade back and get another pick to work with. It’s a hell of a gamble, but if they are all in a cluster for Douglas I wouldn’t be surprised to see us do it

I had no idea Joey Porter Jr slipped into the second round.
He shook my hand breed tub and walked away

Defensively, Drew Sanders and Keeanu Benton help us the most.  Brian Branch would be fun.

Offensively, Bergeron needs to be the top target.  TE too, especially if Mayer is there.

We just made a hell of a gamble on Aaron Rodgers.  Now you want to get stingy paying for his protection?

We've got a 39 year old man being protected by a 38 year old man, our most disappointing free agent of 2022, a center no one wanted, and a cadre of players returning from injuries.  I could give a freak about the developmental safety prospect in the 4th round.

On the up side he should be very used to this from Thompson and McCarthy's OLine management.

Serious question for the board...if you had to bet your life on it...do you think the Jets will actually take one of these guys at 43?

I'd add Tyler Steen and Chandler Zavala to the list.  We had top 30 meetings with both of them and it's not inconceivable Joe and Co. have them a round higher than the general consensus.
