Lobbying the government to prevent competition is totally something you do when you offer fair and competitive pricing.
Of course it is. I've been involved in a number of meetings with MPPs and lobbyists for all sorts of legitimate reasons, sometimes to inform them why they need to restrict competition. I'm not posting gory details on here but will happy discuss it over a beer.
Car dealers are often wretched scum and I've never suggested otherwise. As I said, I just find it hilarious that you'd rather pay a premium to the manufacturers in order to avoid talking to someone than get a better deal from the dealers. If you think that being able to buy direct from the manufacturer is going to somehow save you money then you fundamentally misunderstand the entire business model.
