This seems to be an appeal to Rodgers.

Let me reiterate, if this team trades ANYTHING CLOSE to two firsts for a 39 year old quarterback whos body is starting to betray him, they really are the dumbest motherfuckers alive. It's organizational malpractice.

I'm not opposed to bringing him in at all, I still think he can play at an elite level, and unlike Bert Jerkoff who was basically forced here and used it as a detour to another destination, he'll have to want to come here (he has all the leverage to tell any team he doesn't want to go to that he's not coming). But he'll get murdered behind this line as presently constituted.

The trade compensation is going to need to be similar to Favre’s for this to be worth it. Giving up multiple firsts for a QB who is going to be 40 next season with our cap issues and still busted OLine isn’t going to do anything good for the franchise long term.

Thoughts on Hackett hire:

PROS: Experienced playcaller. Runs West Coast system, which means continuity. Got to an AFC title game with Blake Bortles (minor miracle) and strong running game. Rodgers connection. Will that pay off down the road with a trade?

CONS: Coming off a bad run in Denver, which ranked 32nd in scoring. He was play caller for most of year before he fired himself + gave it to Kubiak. Criticized for game-management. Has never developed a young QB. Only 1 top-10 offense in 6 yrs as primary playcaller (JAX). #Jets

Yeah...i think i hate this hire.

Wilson may have been salvageable, now he most certainly isn't.

My initial reaction to this is not good. I liked the MLF a lot more and that turned out poorly so who knows.

This is where Joe D must pove he's worth his paycheck.

A 2nd this year and a conditional 4th that can go to a 1dt next year getsthe job done

Pro: goes to the AFCCG with Blake Bortles

Con: has never developed a young QB

Fact: was Bortles' QB coach from his second year onwards

Great reporting, Dick.

Also, one of his years in Buffalo his starter was ej Manuel.

I'm choosing not to be emotional about this type of excrement anymore until we start playing.  No one knows excrement.  Everything we hear about these guys is media spin

Okay. If this is a play to woo the other #12, my thoughts:

Rodgers would be my third pick for veteran QB. He’s pushing 40 and his body is breaking down (maybe I’m wrong on the latter.)

Very few QBs are Tom Brady, how long do we expect him to play at an elite level? We have an incredible core of young players who will want to get paid eventually, buying high on an older QB shortens our window.

If it’s not for Rodgers, I hope he can work with whoever we bring in and plays to our talent’s strengths.
Tom Brady kisses his kids like that kid from Glee who hung himself last week.

Sound familiar?

The move also sets in motion a potential courting process for Packers QB Aaron Rodgers -- long disgruntled with Green Bay's front office and once rumored to be headed to Denver on 2021 NFL Draft night.
