Three of those guys were keys to one of the most successful periods in recent team history, and reached a level most players, coaches and GMs never hit. Another one was an architect of that period, and another one has over two decades of experience in the NFL as a player and head coach. "Couldn't cut the mustard in the league" isn't really true at all of any of them except McElroy.

Kind of funny this is an article now. ESPN has been signing ex-Jets coaches and players for years.
