The Jets have replaced longtime head trainer John Mellody, ESPN has learned. His longtime assistant, Dave Zuffelato, will take his place. Mellody will remain as a consultant. The team had a rash of injuries last season.

I've heard this was building for awhile as there has been friction specifically between Adam Gase and Mellody, someone who has been highly praised in Jets org. for 2 decades

I’m sorry but after the ridiculous injuries we have had I would have hoped for more sweeping changes to the training staff.

And as against Gase as I am, how can you not expect him to be pissed at the training staff? They mishandled Mosley’s return to the field, Herndon may or may not have had his injury exacerbated, the entire Osemele situation, the number of guys that simply couldn’t get on the field?

Our training staff was absolutely NOT good last year, and frankly probably haven’t been for some time. It’s time for changes, and unfortunately I had hoped for more
