I think all of us would swap Winters for Warford in a heartbeat. The question is would the other 31 teams let us do that. I assume Warford will be a popular free agent on the market. But he is clearly an upgrade over Lewis and Van Roten and Winters and Andrews. I'm not sure if Lewis and Van Roten would be particularly happy with the move, but let them compete for a spot.

Good news is they don't have to be happy. I have to imagine neither was guaranteed a starting spot.

I would go to Warford's camp and tell them to call me before accepting an offer, I'd plan to match or beat basically any sane offer for the guy. Hell I'd pack that thing so full of incentives he would be well compensated if his probowl play continues.

He's right.

I expect Warford's contingent to collect offers over the next 24-48 hours, and pick a new team on Monday.

I hope it's us, but I can also see a team offering him a crap-ton of money to ensure they obtain his services. Virtually every team in the league can benefit from Warford. I'm honestly surprised that the Saints weren't able (or interested in) to move him for something late in the 2021 draft.

But in reality I expect 15+ teams will contact Warford about joining up. I’m hopeful we are one of the teams there at the end...
