I’m curious about your Paris Johnson ranking. So many talk like he’s the slam dunk OT in this class, yet you have him 5th. I’ve seen you suggest he’s better inside, yet he is not on you interior rankings (which Skoronski is, but he is t outside even though many also say he’s a tackle)

What’s the biggest reason you aren’t as high on him as the consensus seems to be?

I think Skoronski is a surefire guard, while I think Johnson and Jones can play guard but are probably tackles in the NFL.  Sko can likely play tackle in a pinch but he's a great fit inside at guard or maybe even center.

Johnson's a really good athlete at the position but he gets pushed around too much and isn't great in the run game.  I wasn't big on AVT as a tackle for similar reasons.  I think Johnson will end up ahead of Duncan when things shake out.  Interested to see measurements.

None of these tackles are slam dunks.

Darnell Wright seems like a safe pick to me as a right tackle.

What you just explained is why Skoronski is the guy I’d want most. NFL guys seem to think he can play outside, although i suspect post combine that number will decrease. I think everyone expects he will be a slam dunk inside (ala AVT) add in he might be able to play C? I’m all in. Our line is going to shift around in the coming years with Laken likely canned after this year. Skoronski could play C or OG (maybe OT), AVT can play OG or OT. If Skoronski is at C and AVT is at OG we could bring in McGlinchey to play OT. If AVT plays OT, Skoronski could be our OG.

Makes too much sense to me

The amount of tackles who have succeeded when the first thought is that they lacks power is really slim. I think he’s a great athlete and can impress with his movement, but it’s hard to overcome it when that natural strength is limited.

I think the center/IOL class is too deep to take Skoronski in the first. Like you can get Schmitz or Tippman in the second for the same idea and they can start tomorrow.

I'm fine with whichever tackle Joe D thinks is best at our pick.

Vegas Odds for first OL taken:

Paris Johnson -155
Skoronski +190
Broderick Jones + 500
Darnell Wright +1500

I like the Skoronski odds
