Two movies look pretty intriguing to me: “Don’t Look Now” from ‘73 and “Possession” from ‘81.

How about Battle Royale? I've somehow never seen it despite knowing about it for 20 years.

Thanks dude. I just watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time in like 25 years so I think I’m gonna wait until tomorrow to check them out. Don’t Look Now sounds really interesting.

I've heard great things about Don't Look Now but haven't watched it. Probably will give it a shot too.

Possession looks really good too. Thanks for the suggestions, always like to diversify the library.

Don't Look Now is regularly listed in the pantheon of greatest and most important horror movies in history, in the same group with classics like The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby and The Wicker Man. I watched it many years ago and found it laughably awful, with one of the most stupid endings I have ever seen.

I need to watch it again.

I remember someone absolutely raving about it, watched the trailer and thought this looks dreadfully boring. I think I read about it on "greatest horror" movies list. I'll give it a go.

Ari Aster said it was an influencing movie for him so that’s recommendation enough for me.

I watched Black Christmas this December because of how many slasher films cite it as an influence. I absolutely see the germs of slasher tropes but it's not a particularly interesting movie.

And FTR, I think that most of those horror classics - the ones I mentioned as well as The Omen, Psycho and so on - are generally brilliant, so this isn't me just hating on the era or genre. I was just utterly confused as to what it was trying to do, and then when I was waiting for the big payoff... well, you'll see.

A lot of influential works are not as good as what they influenced.

Ok no spoilers.

The main thing I took away from this movie is that Julie Christie was gorgeous back then. Other than that, I have to side with Mr. English over the glowing reviews on IMDb. It’s extremely slow paced, and that usually doesn’t bother me and it’s reaching hard for some symbolism but it’s just ok. Maybe in 1973 it was groundbreaking (the cinematography is fantastic, acting is good) but I noticed Steve has Suspiria in his collection. I’ve seen that before and it’s rather superior to this.

If you’re still taking requests I would love to watch Mid-90s again and I would also like to see Yellowjackets. Thanks Steve.

I've been torn between watching the original Suspiria or the remake. Been leaning toward the latter.
