Derek Jeter to retire after 2014 season
« on: February 12, 2014, 01:22:16 PM »
Derek Jeter just announced that 2014 will be his final year playing MLB.

As much as the other Core-4 retirements hurt, this one is the worst. Completely unexpected too.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

I wouldn't say completely unexpected. Definitely hurts though.

unexpected? i'm hoping to hear a "whoosh" sound soon. This was almost a foregone conclusion, to be honest.

im not even a baseball fan and him retiring just feels nuts, more so than any other athlete that has retired in my lifetime.

Makes ya wonder who is going to be the new guy  now to carry that franchise.

Especially since Cano left to chase the $$$

Like always, I hope he has a miserable, awful freaking year, but I'll miss him in 2015.

I can't wait to trash all of the tributes during his 'farewell tour.'

One tweet that made me feel really old was that Jeter's career began before Bill Clinton's second term did.
