It's a break for both Darnold and Mayfield. Neither one have been good quarterbacks in their careers. Both have beatable competition in training camp. Mayfield has been better than Darnold, so I would think he'd win, but neither is great.

Joe Douglas got Darnold for a 2nd and 4th in 2023 and a 6th in 2022.

Baker Mayfield went for a conditional 5th in 2024.

The Jamal Adams and Sam Darnold trades are both masterclasses by Joe Douglas.

He made one point about Darnold possibly ending up in Seattle.  I doubt it, but that would be great for him.

Don't trade with Joe Douglas.

I just gave him a $7 tip for my Popeye's doordash.

(j/k he's been an entitled rich kid his whole life, and he can continue to live his dream of never being employed)

I wonder if Seattle would make a go at Sam

Obvious need, lots of rumors in the past.

Presumably the compensation would be largely a matter of taking his excrement contract off the Panthers book.

I can't see why the freak Carolina would want to keep him, despite them saying they will

I can’t imagine they can move him with a $19 million salary. Nobody wants that and I’m pretty sure they can’t cut him without paying out the money. So might as well let him be a backup. As far as backups go, you could do worse than a guy with starting experience who is familiar with your weapons already.
Need a new one for a new board...

Bakers salary was his sticking point, Darnolds should be no different.

Surely Carolina COULD move him if they opted to eat a sizeable portion of his salary, or at the least take a excrement contract off Seattle's hands

I wonder if the Browns had any interest whatsoever in acquiring Darnold in this dumpster of a trade
