Both DJ Reed and Jermaine Johnson hurt in practice today.

Johnson is participating in team sprints.

he must be alright then.  He was seen limping to the medical tent with a trainer to get his ankle looked at.

Looks like Reed might be fine.

DJ Reed, helmet in hand, rejoining his teammates. Spent a lot of time talking with the trainers, moving around, stretching. Jeff Ulbrich came to check on him at one point.

Seems to be walking ok. #Jets

You need to be able to prepare your team. Injuries happen. I think joint practices are smart. Some teams prefer them over preseason games because they are more controlled. I think I do, too.

I hate anything that has to do with the Jets and the Giants in the preseason.

Do you practice this level of pedantry or does it come naturally?

We don't do this during the regular season so what's the point of the distinction you're making?

I think he's a PS guy. With Mims almost certainly out, I expect us to carry 5 WRs with Smith being #5 as hes a better ST guy than Jackson, who might have proven to be a better WR than Smith this camp.

We need to cut 'corners' somewhere to save some of the talent at our more stacked positions (depth wise) like CB and DL. I'll probably be bored and do a 53 man roster prediction tomorrow after the Jets/Giants game.
Need a new one for a new board...

What are you talking about? There is a legit distinction between the two. Practices are a much more controlled environment with less stakes involved (wins and losses). They are similar but not the same at all.

i know the 2020 draft is looking like more and more of a mess by the day, but willing to give JD a pass given he was working with a completely incompetent staff coming in, and if i'm not mistaken he kept the incumbent draft/scouting infrastructure in place before bringing in his guys after.

he's really filled the fillers/depth of this squad with interesting young talent who also happen to be very easy to root for. will be interested to see if he can get anything meaningful from other teams for our leftovers

2020 definitely looks like the outlier.
