Ideal draft scenario
« on: April 25, 2022, 09:12:33 PM »
We only have a few more days to go… what are your ideal scenario(s) for this weekend? My day dream scenario….

4 - Kayvon Thibodeaux - Edge - Oregon
10 *Trade* Eagles trade 15+ 51 for 10+111 at 10 Eagles select Jermaine Johnson
15 - Jameson Williams - WR - Alabama
35 - Nakobe Dean - LB - Georgia
38 - Lewis Cine - S - Georgia
51 - Travis Jones - DT - UCONN
69 - Cam Jurgens - C - Nebraska
117 - Luke Goedeke - OT - Central Michigan
146 - Coby Bryant - CB - Cincinnati
163 - Pierre Strong - RB - South Dakota State
Need a new one for a new board...

I was mostly through posting a mock draft, but it was virtually identical to yours.

4. Hutchinson/Thibodeaux
(trade 10 and a 2023 4th for 17, 79, 236 and a 2023 2nd)
17. Jameson Williams/Garrett Wilson/Drake London
35. Nakobe Dean
38. Lewis Cine
69. Jamaree Salyer
79. Tariq Woolen
111. Isaiah Spiller
(bailed on mock at this point because I looked up and it was basically the same as yours, just with a slightly different trade down)

In terms of ideal world, a top 4 picks of Thibs, Jameo, Dean, and Cine would be awesome. I can’t think of a better group of 4 in terms of situations which could realistically happen.

After that it’s just poaching guys who fell in whatever order you think, but if we get those 4, it’s hard to imagine anything but a stellar draft overall.

I'd like for us to grab some developmental offensive linemen in the mid-to-late rounds

I'm impressed by how plausible it is.

It feels that way today. I guess we will see how possible it ends up being and if we draft any of these guys

Based on everything I've been following with the Jets, I think that the JETS' ideal draft scenario is this.

4. Ekwonu
10. Jermaine Johnson
35/38/111. Deebo Samuel

Trade Becton to recoup picks in either 2022 or 2023.

Ideal:

- Becton is healthy and we keep him
- Hutch, KT at 4
- trade back from 10, still get one of the top  4 WRs in the middle 1st.

Ok, who knows what happens at 10 or if we stay there, but I'm fairly confident we stay at 4.  Unlike most years, any player is possible to be there.  If I've gotta pick the guy I want at 4, it's Thibodeaux.

KT/Hutch at 4 and Wilson/Williams at 10. Starter quality players at 35 and 38.

Someday this won't be our Super Bowl anymore.

I'll always love the draft.  Because even if we reach the pinnacle of greatness, still need the draft to sustain it.
