If the Jets sign Rodgers or Tannenhill, you have to imagine they're not looking at a long term marriage. Both of those guys, I assume will be here maybe 2 years. Meaning Zach will probably have another opportunity here.

With Carr as a free agent (or Jimmy Garoppolo) you're not getting them without a marriage. Meaning those guys are definitely starting at least 3 at the minimum likely 4 or 5 years. Essentially saying Zach Wilson serves no purpose to this franchise and really should be traded.

I guess the compensation for Rodgers could nudge him past a 2 year commitment, as we've all seen some radical suggestions.

Is apparently they changed the 5th year options

Meaning there's some weird formula to calculate value now.

Meaning if Zachs play time is low enough, and he doesn't make any probowls

There's a potential doorway to him being a 5th year option candidate

That said he would still have to make enormous freaking strides
