Statistically aren’t you expected to score more points only going for 2 anyways?

It's about the same. Moving the extra point back makes it about the same mathematically.

If you convert extra points 94% of the time, and you convert 2-point conversions 47% of the time, it's the same expected points. Haven't looked at what the numbers are this year, but usually it's around that range.

There is no way we are making that kick 90% of the time.
