Funny, nobody here wanted him last year when he was available and we were hiring. I'd have preferred him over Gase, granted all I really knew about Gase was he coached Miami and I hate everything related to them.

One that he didn't even want when he had the opportunity as a meaningful voice to either advocate for him or the immortal Alex Smith, (don't get me wrong, Smith turned out to be a solid, if unspectacular NFL quarterback before his leg was snapped).

I can't believe the Cowboys made a lateral move away from one of the biggest underachievers relative to their talent, but here we are. The only difference between Garret and McCarthy is that one had Aaron Rodgers and didn't get screwed out of advancing in a year they could've won the super bowl by a horrible call.

I don't remember too many people saying we should hire him. I posted when he was available late last season and the reaction I got was he can stay available. I wasn't necessarily saying go get him but he seemed to be an experienced, offensive guy who had some wins and playoffs on his resume, which is what I thought people were wanting.

The threads are there, nice thing about this site, we can go back and see how wrong everybody always is.

I don't mind McCarthy. He did pretty well with a QB who is hella talented but something of an poopchute, and a roster that was never terrible but rarely great.
