This sucks (and does nothing to dispel the notion that the party is just a nepotistic vehicle for people to fail upwards)

Oh FFS do I have to do my Meg Whitman rant yet freaking again? She isn't even good at being a capitalist.

I guess the Biden camp thinks that their cabinet posts have to be confirmed by a GOP senate, so there's no point in trying to get anyone he really wants past Mitch McConnell. That may be why you see all these recycled moderates listed as potentials.

Then again, there's this:

https://prospect.org/politics/we-dont-have-to-live-in-mitch-mcconnells-world/

In this, it points out that Biden can just use the Vacancies Act like Trump did over and over again, and appoint an endless supply of "Acting" posts with whoever the freak he wants.  Or he could appoint posts in recess (read the article).

Basically, you can play fair and lose to McConnell every time, or beat them at their own game and not give a freak because Turtle sure doesn't.

Then again, maybe Biden would rather try to mend fences that blow them up.

She's an exclusionary elitist queynte who's not good at a lot of things policy-wise.

That said, declaring a Harvard/Princeton grad who's a billionaire and married to a Harvard/Oxford neurosurgeon (salary$..whadda ya think?) as a shitty capitalist is a tough sell.

He probably won't, he's a people pleaser and I don't think he's looking to rile things up any more than they already are right now.  Maybe once things settle down he'll sneak in a few good ones.

To be fair, Meg Whitman has a history of making rich corporations not quite as rich.

I don't know anyone who thinks she's any good at anything helpful.

This would be a good way to fail the country.

I don't mean shitty as in not committed to the cause, I mean shitty as in not any good at it. I have over the years worked quite a lot with HP and have a fair amount of familiarity with the organization, and her time in charge of that company was criminally bad. Some of the decisions and strategic moves she made as their chief made me wonder whether she actually had the first clue about the market in which she was operating.

I'm not sure what her husband's knowledge of which tubes go in which sockets in the human brain has to do with it.

Fair point (though she hit it out of the park with Ebay; whiffed with HP [bad Automony move] and Quibi).  That said (and fwiw) why would a company such as Proctor & Gamble keep an Adam Gate-type capitalist on their board of directors?  She's the 5th richest gash in California and as far as her equally 'alma mater lettered' hubby goes, she knew well enough NOT to hitch her wagon to Dr. Joe Blow, Harvard Community College.  Again, I get your point, but she (Princeton/Haarvaard) is not a good capitalist (per se)?  ?

She's a committed capitalist, I'm just never going to trust someone who failed to succeed with a gilt-edged company like HP. It's almost as bad as bankrupting a casino, if you can imagine that someone could be as inept a businessperson as to achieve that.

Mayor Pete for VA is a great place to let him succeed in government and then dead end in national elections.

I got flipped off by a Trump parade in my rural Tennessee town. There were about a dozen pickup trucks and POS cars with Trump flags.

I'm not sure why they were mad. I figured they were doing it for attention so I took a couple pictures.

That was a good speech. It was more presidential than anything we've heard from the incumbent in the last 3 years and 10 months.

Welcome back America, we've missed you.
