Signing Lawson and Curry makes more comfortable passing on EDGE that high in the draft.  I'd prefer a different direction.

But if we have a potentially elite edge on the board at 23, I'd expect us to take that guy because he'd almost certainly be the best player on our board, and we don't exactly have it solved. Is it serviceable to above average? I expect so. Are we trotting out elite defensive players for our defensive HC? Nope.

I agree we should prioritize offense, but if we have a top 15 grade on Ojulari, and think he's the best edge guy in the draft by a mile, and our top rated offensive player is a top 35 player, you have to take the talent. Our team is a walking disaster, and needs youth everywhere. I hope the talent gap between offense and defense is very close at 23, or that we even have the chance to drop back a bit to 28 or so, but I think if we stick at 23, it's probably a defensive guy. 34 is likely our next offensive player.

i'm not questioning the kid's talent.  I just prefer to go in a different direction at 23.

Aaron Maybin wasn't bad because of his size.  He had no pass rushing moves and he couldn't defend the run.

Ojulari is arguably more powerful than every pass rusher in this draft aside from Kwity Paye.  I would also take Paye at 23.

I just assumed Ojulari was a better fit as an OLB in a 3-4 due to his size.

I've wondered this, but I have seen enough people saying Ojulari can make it as a down lineman to have me flip script.
