I dunno about taking on Dee Ford's awful contract considering it didn't seem like he fit the scheme in SF

Swap out Jenkins for Eric Stokes and Tremble for Trey Smith (both went after those respective slots in this mock) and that would about as good a draft as we could hope for that doesn’t involve a Watson trade
Need a new one for a new board...

DJ's latest mock

#2: Wilson
#23 Etienne

If we stay at 2, we need a QB, so I like the Wilson pick.

Don't want an RB in the 1st round unless we trade down and get more picks first.

DJ has Trey Lance at 4 and Justin Fields at 8. Interesting. Adds to my thought process that if we draft someone at 2 that isn't a quarterback, we screwed up. Either trade down or pick a QB.

In the DJ mock, he shared that perhaps Indy would trade for Darnold since Rivers retired.

I'm down

Assuming we go for the rookie over Watson and Sam, it needs to be Wilson and it damn well should be with the idea of trading Sam for the beat offer we can get. We should be hoping all the aging QBs retire to help spur a bidding war amongst playoff teams in need of QBs. Brees and Rivers are out, we need Ben to go next. Anything to drive the price up either for #2 or Sam

The Steelers are signing Watkins. They've already got Rudolph there. They're not trading for Darnold even if Ben retires.

I would be thrilled to get back a 2nd rd pick for Sam from Indy...even though it's a fraction of what we paid Indy to draft him
