This is a great contract. More for the Jets than Rex, but it certainly doesn't hurt him. If he can do what he believes he is capable of, he gets paid. If he can't, the team gets out of it early.

The way it's structured, if he hasn't shown enough to warrant another extension in 2015, he'll never get to the point of a "lame duck" conversation again.

This is a great deal for everyone involved. It removes the dumb distractions and lets the team get down to the business of building a contender.
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

It would have been ridiculous to do anything else.  If they're not firing the guy then they needed to make that commitment.

Cimini basically said the same things I said. That almost makes me feel like I'm wrong.

Read Ian O'Connor's excrement column and you'll feel better.

Yup. It's not like he's an unknown quantity here. When he's had anything to work with we've been very successful, when he doesn't we struggle. Even with that we've only had the one losing season.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

Why would I do that?

Because you'll find someone you're happy to disagree with.
