2014 Offseason General Sports
« on: January 16, 2014, 10:28:32 AM »
As it does every year, that miserable stretch has begun where Jets football is over and we look forward to next season.  This thread is to discuss any and all sporting events in an attempt to pass the time until there is meaningful offseason news, and finally the start of the 2014 season.  Feel free to post any items of interest and I’ll add them to the list.  Most of these dates are based off of the teams that I follow, so take that into account if I’m a couple days off.  All dates are start dates.

I've been working on a similar mental calendar but I'm also taking TV shows into account.

This thread is an extension of my boredom at work today and doing the same thing.  Does anyone care my Mens Softball league starts May 1st?

your TV sched would be pretty useful if you wouldn't mind posting it in the TV shows thread.

I'm going to tell you a secret: you have the power to create a thread for any sport you want.

Im at the NCAA Mens Lacrosse Championship in Baltimore. Duke beat Denver and Notre Dame beat Maryland today so it's Notre Dame - Duke in the finals. I freaking hate duke

The tournament is hosted in M&T Bank Stadium (Ravens stadium) and all I can think about is how much nicer and better designed it is than Metlife.

My brother-in-law won the Division 2 NCAA National Championship for CW Post in lacrosse back in either '08 or '09. He was one of their captains. That was at Gillette Stadium which I also marveled at how much better it was than our stadium. This was before we had a new stadium and my opinion hasn't changed on that.

that's pretty cool, my neighbor I grew up with and played youth hockey/lacrosse won the D3 championship with his school Davidson last year.  I don't really dislike Metlife, but it's disappointing that a brand new billion and a half dollar stadium isn't the best in the NFL. sucks to see when other stadiums took crowd noise and niceties for fans into consideration.

There are plenty of niceties at MetLife for the fans who plunked down thousands for PSLs and want to watch the game on a TV inside the Lexus VIP lounge.

I will say that I've never been to the nicer levels of metlife. I was at the standard 200 level at the Ravens stadium today and it was way nicer than what I'm used to. Upscale bars/lounges, Carpeting, enough bathrooms where there aren't any lines, nicer amenities, ect.

What do you want to bet that cost less than 10% of 1 persons PSL?
Need a new one for a new board...
