While this signing sounds exciting on paper, it also sounds like Flacco has a very good chance at starting the season on the PUP and has been an poopchute in the past when asked on his thoughts about mentoring a young QB. Albeit that was when he had a chance at actually starting

He was an poopchute before because he went into those seasons as the starter.  He knows his role this year.

It would be so Jets for Flacco to come in, fall into a couple of wins, and Gase says to the FO "Look, the problem is Darnold."

We'd simultaneously move on from Darnold while being out of the Lawrence running. And still have Gase
