All the other conferences are almost certain to follow suit, you would think.

ACC will play conference-only schedule, bail out Notre Dame.

Cutcliffe is one of the best in the business and he's handled this better than anyone at the CFB level

I don’t see this actually being effective, especially with the SEC and ACC teams playing games in Florida and Texas.

Those states have enough schools to play amongst themselves

Basically.

PAC 12 wouldn’t be looking much better between California and Arizona.

Forgot about Syracuse in NY so there’s another issue for the ACC, although I think the majority of cases are still occurring in Manhattan instead of upstate, but I could also be very wrong about that part. Regardless, NY has been trending down on cases for the better part of the last couple weeks.

College football is going to be cancelled.

There's too many obstacles, even with conference only play.

Jim Harbaugh's take on the Ivy's cancelling

I imagine Jim is planning on eradicating covid through the power of cold showers, daily prayer and virtuous young men.

I said a couple months ago that CFB should just do regionalized conferences and schedules this year. Have the Florida teams and Texas teams play each other. Have a northeast group, a couple midwest groups, a couple southeast groups, and a couple other groups around the country.

Probably not realistic, but it would have made the most sense to at least try it. Doesn't seem like CFB and the NFL have taken this seriously despite months of time to prepare.

My hope was "maybe this will all be over by then" and apparently they put no further thought into it than me, a random internet commenter.
