2014 Shrine Game (NYJ Visitors)
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:39:21 PM »
According to WalterFootball, the Jets have met the following players through Wednesday (1.15.14):

Notre Dame LB Prince Shembo
Indiana TE Ted Bolser
Wisconsin OG Ryan Groy
Pitt State WR John Brown
San Jose State CB Bene Benwikere
Oregon State CB Rashaad Reynolds
Oklahoma OG Gabe Ikard
Bloomsburg OT Matt Feiler
Rice CB Philip Gaines
Mississippi State RB LaDarius Perkins
Miami WR Allen Hurns
Wake Forest S A.J. Marshall
Cornell QB Jeff Mathews
Coastal Carolina WR Matt Hazel
Tennessee C James Stone
Lindenwood CB Pierre Desir
Bloomsburg OT Matt Feiler
South Dakota LB Tyler Starr
Furman OG Dakota Dozier
Wisconsin DT Beau Allen
Texas CB Carrington Byndom

---

In my opinion the five best players in this game are:

QB Jimmy Garoppolo (Eastern Illinois)
S Hakeem Smith (Louisville)
OT Kevin Graf (Southern Cal)
CB EJ Gaines (Missouri)
LB Max Bullough (Michigan State)

Jets met with Bullough as well. I saw it on Twitter earlier, although I've no idea who said it.

I think it was Laxin that brought up Pierre Desir.  I've been checking out the practices on ESPNU and he is definitely a standout.

I see a lot of scouts calling him the best player there besides Jimmy Garopplo...

Had desir in my mock last week aswell (now unrealistic, no way he is there in round 5 he's going to fly up boards). Is performing about as well if not better than I would have expected. Can't wait to see him in the game.

It was actually you, and not Laxin, that brought up Desir. I just had a brain fart earlier today.

NFLPA Bowl should be entertaining.  Looking forward to watching some of this small school guys shine.

^ Its funny you said that because I was actually going to mention him today and see if anyone has seen any tape on him because Ive been hearing a lot about him- fits the Seattle CB mold at 6'2, rangy and athletic.

On a whim, I checked to see if Lindenwood put their film on Hudl.  Everything for Desir is there - past two seasons are available.  Pretty awesome to look at before the NFLPA Bowl.

I wish Lynch was playing WR or RB in this game.

Defenders can't press outside of the five yard line in this game, which is retarded.

He gave up a short completion after giving a huge cushion.  That's the only time we've seen him.

I didn't know about the press rule, lol. That is terrible.

I've been watching him on plays where I see him on the field. He's been on a few times.

Garoppolo is clearly the best player there.
