5th string QB David Fales released

Adam Schefter: Jets have agreed to bring back QB David Fales on a 1-year deal, per source. Fales was the No. 2 QB to Sam Darnold for most of last season and could fill that role again this year. He played for Adam Gase and Dowell Loggains in Chicago and Miami.

He better be our third string and not Sam's backup

WTF. After what we saw last year I wouldn't pay him to run a hot dog concession on the 300 level concourse.

he's never taken a snap. Of course, not getting in over Falk at any point after he was signed probably says something

I have zero issue bringing back David Fales as depth, but I would like some somewhat legit competition for the backup spot. I don't really want Fales to be the primary backup, but I'm okay with it if he actually wins a competition for the spot against someone halfway competent.

Look, it's not my fault if his name sounds enough like Falk that I get the two mixed up. For his own good he should probably change his name.

I still want Flacco. Apparently he wants to coach when he hangs up his pads, this seems like the perfect fit (head coach notwithstanding).

I dunno, he seemed awfully cranky when he was asked about coaching up Drew Lock before the season began.  Plus he looked like hot garbage when he was on the field last year, to the point where Troy Aikman excrement all over him during TNF.
