Hope she's back to normal now. My wife tested positive in the car on the way to Xmas eve at MIL's. Kids and me were fine, but she lost Xmas. Still has some long-covid.
Thanks, she got through it without too much trouble but she's still being cautious around others, at least for another day or so.

In what may be a surprise to some, yet is not at all to me, NYC was awarded the coveted "high risk" designation today.

And yet, it's still just "highly recommended" to wear masks indoors.

I don't forsee things getting passed the highly recommended stage again.

People just don't give a excrement anymore. I even have doubts about the percentage of smart people who would get the next shot if it becomes reccomended

One in five adult Covid survivors under the age of 65 in the U.S. has experienced at least one health condition that could be considered long Covid, a new CDC study found. Among patients 65 and older, the number is even higher: one in four. https://nyti.ms/39PmXDI

Cato you were overseas recently, how'd you go about the covid test for US re-entry?  Did you do the virtual proctoring thing?

There was a testing center at the airport that I made an appointment for. Where are you flying out from.

Looks like Istanbul airport has a testing center, not sure how convenient or feasible getting a PCR test there is, or if they have other rapid test options but I guess it's a start.

Airport tesing is freaking expensive. PCR in MTL airport, $275. Downtown MTL, $85.

Are you sure you even need it as a returning citizen? Even Canada has dropped testing requirements for fully vaccinated people entering the country and we're far more anal about these things than you guys.

Yes, he still does. From CDC's website:

Quote
Air passengers traveling to the US are required to present a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery

Prices seem to vary. It was $55 in Glasgow.
