Stupidest thing I did recently was go unmasked in a rest stop on I-87.

I don’t usually wear one but I carry mine with me.

Last week I was unmasked in one of my neighborhood bars when I heard someone start spouting off the usual anti-vaxxx talking points. I immediately put my mask back on.

Yeah if I'm going indoors I'll always bring one with me but I've basically adopted "when in Rome" protocol.

I wear my mask indoors everywhere but not outdoors, but I don't go near crowds.

Yes, risk of infection is low. Yes, risk of severe infection is even lower. But it's not zero, and I always err on the side of caution.

Variants are the issue. Also, it's now being reported that vaccinated people are spreading the virus to unvaccinated. I'm responsible for high-risk (though vaxxed) senior adults, and unvaxxed children, so I feel it's my responsibility to do what I can to keep them safe.

I don't mind wearing masks, so it's no big deal to me anyway.

But experts, CDC and FDA all say: Not so fast. There's no evidence that boosters will be needed -- maybe ever.

Or the giant pharmaceutical company that's trying to make a profit on extra vaccines. I'm not saying Pfizer is wrong, that's the vaccine I had. But it's good that there are checks and balances.
