What I underestimated was how much better I felt knowing the truth, and not wondering what's under the hood.  So much less anxious.  Yeah, I have a few minor things, like every other 40-something year old dude.  But I know what they are, they aren't gonna kill me, and I know I'm doing all the right stuff to manage it.  For a chronic worrier like me, that was the best medicine.

One time my poop was weird so I went to the doctor about it and they asked for a stool sample, which isn't the easiest ask, but I managed to collect it and bring it in, and then they never called me again.

I'm not dead yet and my poop went back to normal so it worked out. This was about 4 years ago.
