Thanks to 4 years of at sea duty and my poor mental coping skills, I have developed hypertension which at times - even here on shore duty - borders on severe condtions (190/120 or greater). As a result, I now qualify for DC's vaccine priority distribution. Hooray.

Jeez dude, please take care of yourself. I have high BP and have been on Losartin for a few years, but mine has never been that high.

I didn't go for a lot of years, but now I am old and need an inspection occasionally. Thus far I have resisted having the doctor shove his finger up my derriere and I don't think he's particularly motivated to press the issue.

Or you could find something minor now before it creates years of problems.  I get it, no one wants to go to the doctor and most everyone is afraid of going because they may find something.  I didn't go regularly for several years because I was afraid of finding some terminal disease, which I know is retarded, but still.  Once I had kids, it was less about me anymore.  They deserve to have me around ruining their lives for as long as possible.

What I underestimated was how much better I felt knowing the truth, and not wondering what's under the hood.  So much less anxious.  Yeah, I have a few minor things, like every other 40-something year old dude.  But I know what they are, they aren't gonna kill me, and I know I'm doing all the right stuff to manage it.  For a chronic worrier like me, that was the best medicine.
