Short term I agree on residential rentals, although there's still something quite broken about the system. Providing money to renters keeps the system running for now though.
That's really my point. You have to keep the wheels turning in the short term. Rent is too high, trust me, as someone who has always lived in an apartment and can't afford to save for a mortgage downpayment, I know.
The only point I'm trying to make is that "cancel rent" is a simplistic "solution" that causes problems and doesn't really solve much.
