Sometimes they have unique baked products (breads and excrement) but trader Joe's doesn't hold a candle to whole foods

Yeah its about 1/10th the size of a whole foods. And they get way more of their excrement shipped in, unlike whole foods who does all their own excrement on site.

I'm not a huge whole foods person but I think their bakery destroys all others. And their produce is pretty top notch. All their prepackaged bullshit is no different than everyone else's

Whole foods is definitely much more mainstream. It's basically a fancier version of Wegmans

Though to be fair I don't go to trader Joe's or Whole Foods but I'd definitely take whole foods over trader Joe's anyday

the appeal with trader joe's is the variety and the quality of their product, all at very competitive and very reasonable prices. i have no idea what $8 bottles of peanut butter dcm is talking about.

i second the 'have you ever been to trader joe's?' query. and you have totally got the book reversed on TJ/WF. was not long ago that people shopped at whole foods despite their exorbitantly expensive prices, just so they could say they shop at whole foods.
