I also think that the younger population is overrepresented now, and they typically have less severe outcomes.
I feel like I should point out here, and I know you weren't saying this, that it's not because kids don't care and are just going to bars and licking each other with wild abandon, but because they're more likely to be working in front line jobs and so when bars and restaurants and malls and everything else open without restrictions, they're the ones getting all the exposure. They're also less likely to be able to afford to say "you know what, I'm not really comfortable returning to work in these circumstances so I'm going to prioritise my health over my job" because they haven't had the luxury of the time to build up things like savings and home equity and so on.
I'm pointing this out because I'm ready for the next narrative to start up with "young people caused this through their reckless behaviours" and I don't and won't accept it.
