People in the healthcare field will be affected by this just as much as sick/old people. Infectious disease specialist on the FAN said a hospital a colleague works at has run out of hand sanitizer on multiple floors, have a limited supply of masks, and have run out of PPE- they are being asked to re-use gowns

I'm going to make my IRA contribution for then year now.  Anything else I'm just going to dollar cost average on the way down.

Yep on the main page of reddit was an icu nurse only wearing goggles because they're out of mask.

Sloan Kettering was in the news having jt reported they'll be out of masks sometime this week.

A big concern is how many healthcare employees are going to say freak off when their employers expect them to do shady excrement like working without proper precautions. Already short employees and suddenly going to lose more to illness and walking out

WFAN doctor thinks it will take a minimum of 8 weeks of social distancing to get through this, but thinks that might not be enough because we haven’t taken measure quickly enough. She thinks the window for “flattening the curve” has almost closed.

Considering that I've got enough saved to ride this out for a little bit, and absolutely no leverage in terms of trying to find another job at this point, I have nothing else to do besides accept it, work within the new world for the next couple of weeks and hope against hope that this gets better. There are plenty of people who are way worse off than I.

A Japanese man who recovered after testing positive for coronavirus aboard the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship— caught the bug a second time at home, according to a new report.

The man, in his 70s, first tested positive for COVID-19 February 14 while on board the vessel off the coast of Yokohama, Japanese news agency NHK reported.

He was confirmed negative for the bug on March 2, and was allowed to take public transportation home from the Tokyo medical facility where he was staying to western Japan’s Mie prefecture, according to the report.

But it wasn’t long before he started to feel sick again, and developed a fever of about 102 degrees on Thursday, according to the report.

He went to the hospital Friday, and was confirmed to be infected again on Saturday.

My wife is a child therapist and owns her own practice. She went from 20-25 weekly clients to 3 confirmed for this week, all over the phone via a state approved FaceTime-like app.

Thank God my grandfather taught me the merit of a penny saved, even if it pisses my wife off at times.
