I want a left tackle.

The good ones don’t hit free agency, the draft hasn’t had top OT talent in recent years, and if we’re decent we won’t be in position to draft one anytime soon.

We can always get a WR, CB, EDGE elsewhere.

Get Darnold a cornerstone on the OL and Ill feel a lot better about his development going forward.

This
Teams that draft well do so no matter where they pick. Teams that draft poorly do so no matter where they pick I want my team to win games and draft well

Hopefully one of those top 3 or 4 are there at 11.  Should be. Pretty top heavy tackle draft.  WRs will be abound in rounds 2 and 3.  Not as good as the top 3 WRs, but not a huge falloff.

I'm taking Ruggs over Jeudy and Lamb if we go receiver.

But I'm truly hoping we get a tackle at 11 and look at Tee Higgins or DPJ in the second.

In another draft thread you had said you wouldn't take DPJ before the 4th round. Did his stock shoot up that much with his performance at the combine?

I watched him more closely after his vert and broad

He is far from a sure thing but he is very good after the catch and in the redzone

The more news that comes out of the combine (Ruggs incredibly fast 40 time, Isaiah Simmons impressive showing, Becton's size and measurables, Love and Herbert impressing) the more I think we can engineer a small trade down with Oakland or Indy so that one jumps in front of the other for their preferred WR and we can move down, maybe grab another third and still be in position to grab a Thomas or certainly an Austin Jackson.

I'd love Becton. I don't think he'd be there. I love Wirfs as a prospect. I have no idea if he can play left tackle. I know this flies in the face of everything I've been saying about the importance of protecting Sam, and I absolutely do not expect him to fall out of the top 10, but I'd absolutely jump on Okudah if he's there.

I want no part of Austin Jackson in the top 50.

Wirfs is still the guy I am hoping for at 11. I just assume Becton and Wills are locks to go ahead of us, and if the board breaks right, OT 2 goes to Cleveland and we get Wirfs at 11.

If we sign Conklin, I'd be more than okay with us drafting WR at 11 and Austin Jackson in the second round.

Regardless of whether we come out of free agency with one of the big free agent offensive linemen or not, I feel like we need to come away with one of the big 4 OT's.  If we have to trade up with Jacksonville/Arizona than so be it....

I’d be shocked if Douglas gave up picks in his first draft

I’d be happy going OT in round 2 in that scenario. But I just can’t get behind Jackson as a guy I’m drafting to start day 1. Give me Niang, PTW above him, possibly even a few other guys.

Side question what the hell is gonna happen with Ben Bartch? Is he Marpet 2.0?

Seconded. He is more likely to trade down than up unless he’s giving up a player to move up

Because they have depth and we don't? They have drafted well enough to not have 12 holes at any one time. This gives them the ability to gamble on guys by moving up for them. We have tons of holes / depth issues. This isn't the time to go up the board especially given the depth of this class on the OL, at least on the top end anyways.
