Can we invest some money in a competent kicker and then actually keep him? Is that asking too much?

Yes.  Only retarded high school kickers for us.

We have had good kicking for years. This is the first year in a while where it has been a struggle

I guess once we were eliminated, there was no reason to waste any money on a new kicker.  That is the only thing that makes sense.

How many times can you expect to basically get lucky, sign a guy to a one-year deal, and he’s actually good? We got lucky like 3 years in a row. What’s the odds of it?

How about you fuckin pay one of these guys some money and sign them to a multi-year deal?

Off the top of my head

Nick folk - NE - 13/16 - 81%
Younghoe Koo - ATL - 18/21 - 85%
Kai Forbath - DAL - 6/6 - 100%

All of these guys were signed after Ficken.

Ficken - 17/23 - 73%

22/25 XPs = 88%

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Ok, so why didn’t we make any effort to improve at the kicking position? Pretty sure Dallas and Indy made changes at kicker after theirs struggled

Ficken has been consistently bad all year. Before we were eliminated.

Also, maybe try to find a kicker that might have a future here? By trotting Ficken out here all season, we have put ourselves in the same kicking situation for 2020 as we have in 2019. A complete shitbag or nobody.

I'm talking about the second half of this season.  Should have moved on earlier, but once we were eliminated, it didn't matter much.  What are we going to learn from a kicker in 3-4 games?

You eliminate a need heading into the offseason

Falcons cut Matt Bryant, their franchise leader in points scored in November. Idk if they were eliminated but they were probably pretty close.

They obtained a good, young replacement and now may have the option to move forward with him in 2020 or try and find someone better. We have Sam Ficken, who we know is bad. I would prefer the Falcons scenario.
