deGrom is going to have the quickest Hall of Fame speech of all time.  He has nobody to thank.

That stat is insane. 87 starts allowing one or less runs, and he only has 72 career wins.

My dad always says he's undefeated at tailgating

Maybe it's not I who doesn't know what he's talking about

Hitting coach Chili Davis and assistant hitting coach Tom Slater have been relieved of their duties, effective immediately. Hugh Quattlebaum has been named the new hitting coach and Kevin Howard is the new assistant hitting coach.

deGrom scratched. I swear this franchise is the gift that keeps on giving.

Oh yeah, fire this poopchute. He’s a single A manager tops.

The Mets walked 11 batters yesterday, including 3 that forced in runs

The Mets left 17 men on base

The Mets won this game

To clarify - Mets batters walked 11 times.

It's been a rough start of the year offensively, but at least the pitching staff looks solid.

That makes way more sense given the context of the men LOB.

Good on them for not talking about it. It should stay in the clubhouse anyway. It obviously got Lindor going and this is easily their biggest win so far so maybe this is what they needed.

Oooooof, that shot that Pillar took to the face tonight.

What a beast considering he walked off the field on his own two feet.

Kevin Pillar: hoping for a complete comeback both physically and mentally

https://twitter.com/NJ_Sports/status/1394944171627188229

Besides MLB's anemic overall batting average the HBP level is at a high not seen since the late 1880's.  Seems teams recruit some pitchers (esp. relievers) who throw near 100 mph but haven't learned the 'art' of pitching let alone the art of responsibly pitching inside.

edit: speaking of HBP that White Sox guy getting hit because a position player pitching during a blowout got tagged for a home run was bush league (read: Tony LaRussa).
