Hard to call last night a season saver since conference play hasn't started yet, but what a W!

McKnight played his derriere off.

My Johnnies with a big win tonight. With Heron out, even bigger. 11-2 into BE play, did not expect that at all.

Caught the end of that, capped a great day for the Big East. Add to that Seton Hall beating #7 Maryland it was a good week.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.

St John's-Georgetown tonight followed by Seton Hall-Xavier, great night.

Props to Italian Seafood for keeping this thread going almost all by himself.

Hahahah seriously.

Hopefully SHU's bigs can continue to control the glass like they've done over this little winning streak. Keep it going, keep it going real smooth.

Johnnies lack of shooting is killing them.

On a brighter note, North Carolina's unranked.

Haha yes. I enjoy Ewing as a college coach. I'm guessing not a lot of back talk in practice.

Hall just won, now 3-0, 2-0 on the road in the conference. Don't look now but Rutgers is 3-1 in the Big Ten, having a good year so far. Marist even won a game.

Hall wins at #5 Butler, 5-0 in the Big East. Rutgers won too.

Yuge win last night for the Hall. Keep it going this weekend against the Johnnies.

Very encouraging to see a game against an elite opponent in which they were able to get some secondary scoring from guys like Gill and McKnight. Powell is just a monster.

I like how they don't panic. They were down 8 in the second half, Gill later fouled out, they just keep playing. Rik Smits' son is on Butler, #21, they showed Rik at the game. I knew him at Marist, it felt like the old days having to root against Rik vs Ewing in the playoffs every year. I guess he stayed in Indiana all this time.

Great game at MSG, Seton Hall over St. John's 82-79. Trailed by 13 at the half, too many turnovers. Now 6-0 Big East, 4-0 on the road. Powell now over 2,000 points.

First time the program has started the Big East schedule 6-0.

Win against Butler doesn't look as impressive considering they lost to DePaul Saturday, but St. John's isn't bad at all. Anderson is a really good coach.

Big stretch of five games coming up, culminating at Nova on 2/8.

I wouldn't have been surprised if they lost a noon game vs St. John's at MSG, totally expected the bad start. Had trap written all over it and that's always a tough game for us, regardless of how St. John's is playing at the moment. The way they can take a punch on the road, stay in the game and then come back to win is not something I've ever seen from them. Even in the PJ years there would be some games where they got down in a hostile environment and that was it.

Rutgers is 5-3, third in the Big Ten. Looking to see if they will be ranked this week, they have a chance for their first NCAA bid since 1991. I think they haven't been ranked since 1978.
So it turns out, Italian Seafood was right an everyone can go freak themselves.
