The Cousins move has been an awful one.
Yep. Cousins has been a disaster for Minnesota.
He was never great, but he was better than this. I think the pressure of the contract is getting to him a bit. That would have surely been the case here, too.
If we signed Cousins, we probably would have been able to draft:
- Quenton Nelson/Josh Allen at No. 6
- Braden Smith/James Daniels at No. 37
- Dallas Goedert/Donte Jackson/Connor Williams at No. 50
- Rock Ya-Sin/Jawaan Taylor/Greg Little/Greedy Williams at No. 34 this year
If we drafted well, we definitely could have made a Cousins signing work (and that's still a big if). But if Darnold turns into what we think we can, we will be fine.
