The labor of black athletes has no requirement to appease the nation.

Sports are a distraction, not a cure. No one in the NBA or any other league is required fo perform.

I'm talking about all the athletes, not just black athletes.

How are they making it worse?  Black folks are still being murdered...this is the player's way of protesting for change.  I don't blame them for taking action.

Over 90% are murdered by other blacks. We just never learn their names.

Who is talking about anyone's amusement? They get paid millions to play a game, good for them, but you act like they're the slaves in China who make the shoes they wear in the games. Can't talk about that though.

Who are they unifying by playing basketball? 

Most of this country could not give a excrement about the NBA. 

People like us, who find common ground in our common interests. It's not going to fix the whole country, no. 1992 was still a turbulent year regardless of the Drean Team, but my point was they gave people like us something positive rather than throw salt in the wounds.

I'm not acting like they are slaves.

They are millionaires who can walk away whenever they can.

They are also a group who are dangled in front of the country to distract them from difficult moments. In this case they are refusing to distract us from the murder of black lives by the police. The refusal of a portion of the country to accept this as a reason for the NBA players' refusal to perform is not evidence of these players turning their backs on this country.

And let me say I'm not trying to excrement on these young guys. I think there's a lot of public pressure on them to toe the line and say all the right things, I just think they're going about this the wrong way.
