I kinda think that the least important element in making a successful Batman movie is the actor playing Batman.  But maybe that's just because nobody has really done anything interesting with the character yet.

Pattinson's a good actor, though.

A lot of nerds are going to use Twilight against him, but he’s a great actor that’s made some really interesting choices lately.

Good Time is a great film mainly because of Pattinson.

The Lighthouse will probably be a great horror film too.

Well, they've scrapped the entire universe building concept anyway, so it doesn't much matter anymore. I'll be okay with it if they story-build based on the individual characters. We'll see how WW2 and Aquaman2 do.

I don't have any problem with Pattinson getting the role. The only acting trait you need to pull off Batman is dour, and whether you like Twilight or not, that was basically his portrayal of Edward the entire series.

If you call a movie a film does it automatically make it better?

I wasn't trying to imply he wasn't. All I meant is that the only range you need to play Batman is dour, and he's done that convincingly enough in the past.

Twilight was what it was because of the source material. I don't blame Pattinson for that.

Anything Marvel is considered a movie, not a film...because it’s for children.

Exactly...when I root for grown men in brightly colored uniforms and tight pants, it's in REAL LIFE, which makes me a not-child man.

Also, only total soyboy nerds would know Batman is DC and not Marvel, which means I don't even know that!

Winter Soldier and Black Panther are totally only meant for kids, what with their themes about government surveillance and racial inequality.

I'm going to enforce my self-righteous opinion by condescendingly referring to these as "movies".
