So you don't think that the lack of our best defensive player in a decade is currently relevant?
Of course it’s relevant. But in my eyes the unit that had the best day on Sunday was the Safeties. Maye was outstanding (in Adams role, albeit he won’t be as good at it as Jamal, that’s just reality) and McdDougald was not bad in his first game for us.
The LBs were a train wreck, we couldn’t cover half the field as Desir and Hairston were freaking awful, and the DL couldn’t gap contain when rushing Allen in the first half, but they did a tremendous job against a traditional run.
Would Adams have helped? Of course he would have. Would it have been actually better on the scoreboard? No it wouldn’t. Jamal was exceptional, but the guy can’t score on his own the points we needed to make up the difference. And frankly if his aAbsence is the difference between picking #1 and #3 or #7 and #9, we are better off not having him right now.
You are leading the “fire Gase” train right now. Guess what having Adams around gives us a better chance to win in spitE of that fuckhead at the helm. No Adams means we are more likely to lose enough games to fire Gase into the sun, and that’s a pretty important thing for this franchise right now, that needs a very big reset at some very important leadership positions.
Plus Jamal is gone. That’s not changing, at least let’s bitch about the things that might change
