Well Britt, Chris Johnson, and Jared Cook didnt exactly pan out well for them either.

(and I know he didnt draft any of them, but he used Cook terribly, and Johnsons production went to excrement under him and he got his monster extension from Munchak)

The mistake he made with Johnson was that he tried to improve him as a person. They started with attempting to teach him to tie his own shoelaces and Johnson has been in a state of utter confusion ever since.

The Titans didn't take their time firing him...they gave him an ultimatum.

Color me surprised a guy didn't fire members of his staff, so he himself got fired while simultaneously getting whichever staff members fired he refused to fire.

cant decide if this is integrity or idiocy.

So it seems like they offered him an extension if he replaced his staff, he refused, so they fired him.

I was waiting for that news.  I was surprised they didn't directly go after him before pursuing Al Golden so heavily.
